কলকাতায় ফিরলেন কফিনবন্দি বৈষ্ণবঘাটার বিতান অধিকারী। তাঁর সাথেই এলেন তাঁর স্ত্রী ও পুত্র। বিমানবন্দরেই তাঁদের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ পর্ব সারেন রাজ্যের বিরোধী দলনেতা। গিয়েই কোলে তুলে নেন বিতানের সাড়ে তিন বছরের পুত্রকে। আর শুভেন্দুকে দেখেই কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়েন বিতানের স্ত্রী। বলেন, “আপনারা আছেন বলেই এসেছি। আপনাদের ভরসা করি। ও বিজেপিকে খুব মানত। ওর চোখের সামনে ওর বাবাকে মেরেছে! আমার স্বামীর খুনিদের শাস্তি চাই”। এই কথা শুনে বিরোধী দলনেতাও প্রতিশ্রুতি দেন, “দোষীদের শাস্তি হবেই। কাউকে ছাড়া হবে না। আমরা মোদীর শিষ্য আছি”।

He was very loyal to the BJP. His father was killed in front of his eyes! I want punishment for my husband's killers”. Hearing this, the opposition leader also promised, “The guilty will be punished. No one will be spared. We are Modi's disciples”.
